Beanfield is a telecommunications company with the largest independent fiber-optic network in Toronto and Montreal. Conceptum was mandated to assist them with their Montreal office design project, from planning to completion of the work.
The concept retained for these premises aligns perfectly with the Company’s values: community spirit and technological know-how. The servers room, an area usually hidden from view, was brought to the forefront. Adjacent to the reception area, the servers are displayed like technological jewels.
Numerous open-concept areas, such as a video games area and a cozy kitchen equipped with a large table, reflect Beanfield’s community spirit.
Given that Beanfield is housed in a building that dates back to 1920, Conceptum made it a point to bring out the building’s history. The multiple layers of paint on the brick and concrete were stripped off to showcase the existing walls.
Lighting that enhances the texture of the exposed concrete was integrated into the new wood elements to add depth. The result is a texturally rich and inviting space.
To ensure that the mechanical system was not too eye-catching, engineers were involved in the process to design a custom-made mechanical system, with non-standard ducting, positioned in such a way as to blend in with the decor.
